Bill Louv - Chief Information Officer


Bill Louv was appointed Senior Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer for GlaxoSmithKline in January 2007. He is a member of the Corporate Executive Team. He was previously Senior Vice President, Information Technology for the company's Research & Development function.

Bill joined the Glaxo Inc. in 1994 as Vice President of Medical Data Sciences, and has held a number of increasingly senior roles in R&D and IT, including Senior Vice President, Information Technology for the company's US Pharmaceuticals business.

Prior to joining the company, Bill held positions of increasing responsibility at Marion Merrell Dow including Vice President of Global Statistics and Clinical Data Management. Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, he was an associate professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Alabama Medical Center.

Bill has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the College of William and Mary, and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Statistics from the University of Florida. Bill has held memberships in a variety of public health and statistical organisations and published articles in over 25 professional journals.
